🎲 Meeple Dates: About Us

Real players. Real connections. Real community.

We built Meeple Dates for people who are ready for something genuine. Real conversations about whether Splendor actually counts as a gateway game. First meetups over Catan that turn into monthly game nights. Connections that extend far beyond the table.

This isn't about endless swiping or conversations that die after "hey." It's about meeting compatible people who understand the difference between engine-building and area control, and who are ready to see where the dice fall.

Meet Your People

🗺️ How It Started

When our founder moved to a new city, she hit a wall trying to find her people. Facebook groups were scattered and inactive. Game store meetups felt intimidating. Dating apps? Forget it—mentioning your Gloomhaven campaign was a guaranteed conversation killer.

There was no good place to just... find other board gamers who wanted to connect.

She watched herself and others struggle with the same problem: too many platforms, but none that actually understood what tabletop enthusiasts were looking for. So she built Meeple Dates—a space where you don't have to explain why spending four hours on Twilight Imperium is absolutely worth it, because everyone here already knows.

🎯 What We're Here For

Look, not everyone here is looking for romance. Some people want that, sure. Others need a consistent fourth for their weekly game night. Some just moved to town and need to find friends who'll actually show up. Maybe you're looking for something that doesn't fit neatly into "dating" or "friendship" or any traditional label.

That's fine. We get it.

Building connections matters in this hobby. You need people to play with, people who share your enthusiasm, people who understand that your shelf of shame is a badge of honor, not something to be embarrassed about. We're here to help you find those people, whatever form that connection takes.

👨‍💻 The Team Behind the Tiles

We're board gamers first, developers second. We've all experienced that moment when you bond with someone over a shared love of tabletop games and suddenly everything else just clicks. Our backgrounds are in community building and digital design, but honestly, we're just trying to solve a problem we've all lived with: how do you find your people when traditional platforms don't speak your language?

Every feature here exists because we needed it ourselves. We know what it means to finally find a group that respects the sacred rule of "no table talk in traitor games."

✨ Why We Exist

The best connections start with shared passion. When you bond over board games, you already have a common language. You have built-in activities. You understand both victory and defeat (preferably with snacks). That shared enthusiasm makes it so much easier to go from chatting to "Want to finally learn Ark Nova this Saturday?"

  • Gamers first, connections faster. Match with people based on actual compatibility—favorite games, preferred complexity, play style. Fewer dead-end conversations, more real plans with people who speak your language.
  • A space that feels safe. Clear community standards, active moderation, and straightforward reporting tools. We're building the kind of community we'd want to be part of.
  • Profiles that matter. Your top games, your preferred weight, your play style—not just photos. Find people you'll actually want to spend four hours at a table with.

Your next great connection is waiting. Time to roll initiative.
